Max Maben Receives Awards at the Southern Appalachian Science & Engineering Fair Knoxville, TN, March 31, 2026  Maxwell Maben, a junior at L&N STEM Academy, received several awards for his poster at the Southern Appalachian Science & Engineering Fair (SASEF). His work was titled, "Rigorous Assessment of Bio-based and Petroleum Based Polymers for Plastic Bottles". He received the "AIChE Best Application of Chemical Engineering" award and the "Ricoh Sustainable Development" award, as well as an "Honorable Mention" in the overall competition.
